"A Very Sordid Wedding" won six awards at this year's FilmOut Festival in San Diego, including Best Comedy Feature, Best Ensemble, Best Screenplay (Del Shores), Best Actress (Bonnie Bedelia) and Best Supporting Actress (Dale Dickey).

MARCH 2017

"A VERY SORDID WEDDING" FILM TO PREMIERE IN PALM SPRINGS

The long-awaited sequel to Del Shore's cult comedy classic "Sordid Lives", "A Very Sordid Wedding", will premiere in Palm Springs on March 10th at the Camelot Theatre before making its rounds on the 2017 Film Festival circuit.  Most of the cast and crew are expected to be in attendance for the premiere, including the film's composer Joe Patrick Ward.

FEBRUARY 2016

JOE PATRICK WARD TO SCORE "A VERY SORDID WEDDING" MOVIE

Del Shores' latest entry in the popular "Sordid Lives" saga is the new film "A Very Sordid Wedding", which is currently shooting in Canada and Dallas.  Joe Patrick Ward, who scored the "Sordid" series for the LOGO Channel, will compose the film's soundtrack.  The movie reunites several cast members from the original film and television series including Bonnie Bedelia, Caroline Rhea, Leslie Jordan, Ann Walker, Rosemary Alexander, Newell Alexander and Sarah Hunley. Oscar-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg also makes an appearance.  The film is slated for a 2017 theatrical release.

June 2015

"TRAILER TRASH HOUSEWIFE" PRODUCTION IN NASHVILLE

The Nashville premiere of "The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife" will be held at The Darkhorse Theatre. The production is directed by Clay Hillwig and the cast includes Music City actors Cat Arnold, LaQuita James, Andrew Strong, Beth Henderson, LaToya Gardner and Ryan Huber, with L.T. Kirk as music director.  Dates for "Housewife" are July 3rd, 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th and 11th.  All shows begin at 7:30 pm except Sunday, July 5th, which begins at 5:00pm. All performances at the Darkhorse Theater, 4610 Charlotte Avenue. The play is written by Del Shores, with music and lyrics by Joe Patrick Ward.

 

 

December 2014

"JUDY'S SCARY LITTLE CHRISTMAS" PREMIERES IN SEATTLE

The musical "Judy’s Scary Little Christmas will have its Seattle premiere at ArtsWest Theatre from December 4th-28th, 2014.  The production will be directed and choreographed by Troy Wageman, in harmony with music director Christopher DiStefano. Music and lyrics are by Joe Patrick Ward, and book by David Church and Jim Webber

"TRAILER TRASH HOUSEWIFE" PRODUCTION IN BIRMINGHAM

"The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife" will be presented by Theatre Downtown in Birmingham, Alabama from July 31 through August 16, 2014.

SANTA MONICA COLLEGE TO PRESENT "TRAILER TRASH HOUSEWIFE"

The Santa Monica College Theatre Arts Department will present Del Shores’ award-winning dramatic comedy, “The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife” this Friday, April 19 at the Theatre Arts Studio Stage on the main campus, 1900 Pico Boulevard.

INDIE FILM "BLUES FOR WILLADEAN" OPENS IN SELECTED CITIES

"Blues for Willadean", the film version of Del Shores' award-winning play "The Trials and Tribulations

of a Trailer Trash Housewife", opens in selected cities this month. The movie retains almost of the original songs from the play, composed by Joe Patrick Ward, who also scores the film.The film stars all of the original actors who appeared in the 2003 stage version, including Beth Grant ("The Artist", "No Country for Old Men", "Little Miss Sunshine"), Dale Dickey ("True Blood", "Breaking Bad", "Winter's Bone"), David Steen ("Sordid Lives: the Series", "Django Unchained"), Billboard Dance Recording artist Debby Holiday, and recent Oscar Winner (for her portrayal of 'Minnie' in "The Help"), Octavia Spencer. "Blues for Willadean" has limited engagements scheduled for Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Dallas, Austin and San Francisco.  Ward's songs include "The Trailer Trash Blues", "The Waiting Game", "If You Believe, You Can Achieve", and a new song called "I Won't Listen", which he co-wrote with Debby Holiday and Tony Award winner Levi Kreis ("Million Dollar Quartet").

"TRAILER TRASH HOUSEWIFE" MAKES ITS LONDON PREMIERE

The play "Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife" will open at the Bridewell Theatre in London.  The show will be directed by Allan Stronach, and will feature Jo Donnelly, Matthew Vickers, Melisa Minton and Diane Carr.

FILM ADAPTATION OF "TRAILER TRASH HOUSEWIFE" IN THE WORKS

Eight years after it swept top awards for stage productions in Los Angeles, Del Shores finally has independent financing to bring his play about battered women, "The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife", to the big screen.Shores, who wrote the play and movie script, will direct the $1 million independent production in Atlanta with the original cast from the acclaimed Los Angeles stage production. Beth Grant ("No Country for Old Men") reprises her role as abused housewife Willadean Winkler. The part won her best actress honors from the L.A. Drama Critics Circle, the Ovation Awards and Backstage West Garland Awards.She will be joined by Dale Dickey, a recent Gotham award winner and current Spirit Award nominee as best supporting actress for "Winter's Bone"; along with Octavia Spencer, recently cast in DreamWorks' "The Help"; David Steen, one of the stars of Shores' TV series "Sordid Lives"; and recording artist Debby Holiday.Joe Patrick Ward ("Sordid Lives: The Series") will write a score and new original songs, in addition to those he did for the play, and David Sanderson will be the director of photography.This will be Shores' third play to be made into a movie after "Sordid" and "Daddy's Dyin' (Who's Got the Will?)". Shores' play "Yellow" was honored last week by the L.A. Drama Critics as best world premiere."Trailer Trash Housewife" ran for six months at the Zephyr Theater in L.A. in 2003, and was revived in 2006. There have also been numerous regional productions in Atlanta, Dallas and elsewhere.

The musical-play "Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife" will be presented by the Winston-Salem Theatre Alliance in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The show, written by Del Shores, features music and lyrics by Joe Patrick Ward, and will run from April 9 through April 18, 2010.

"TRAILER TRASH HOUSEWIFE" TO OPEN IN INDIANAPOLIS

The musical-play "Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife" will be presented at Theatre on the Square in Indianapolis, Indiana. The show, written by Del Shores, features music and lyrics by Joe Patrick Ward, and will run from February 5 through March 6, 2010.

"JUDY'S SCARY LITTLE CHRISTMAS" TO OPEN IN NEW HAMPSHIRE!

The musical "Judy's Scary Little Christmas" will be presented by the Music and Drama Company (MADCO) in Nashua, New Hampshire. "Judy's Scary Little Christmas" was written by David Church and James Webber, with music and lyrics by Joe Patrick Ward. The musical will open on December 10th at the Court Street Theatre.

A new production of Del Shores' play "Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife", with music and lyrics by Joe Patrick Ward, will be presented by the Uptown Players in Dallas, Texas. "SORDID LIVES: THE SERIES" PREMIERES ON LOGO

The series officially premieres on the LOGO Channel, beginning with episode one, "The Day That Tammy Wynette Died". A new episode airs each Wednesday night at 10 PM, with repeats airing throughout the week. The series is written and directed by Del Shores, and stars Olivia Newton-John, Rue McClanahan, Bonnie Bedilia, Caroline Rhea, Leslie Jordan, Beth Grant, Jason Dottley, Ann Walker, Rosemary Alexander, David Steen, Newell Alexander, Sarah Hunley, and David Cowgill. "SORDID LIVES: THE SERIES" - WEST COAST PREMIERE

The first two episodes of "Sordid Lives: The Series" will have their West Coast premiere at Outfest 2008. Writer/Director Del Shores and the cast and crew will be on hand for the festivities. An extended "Q & A" will follow the screening. Tickets go on sale June 16th. The event will be held at the Director's Guild in Hollywood.

"SORDID LIVES: THE SERIES" - OFFICIAL PREMIERE IN NYC!

World Premiere of "Sordid Lives: The Series"! The event takes place at World Stages in New York City on July 15th. The first 2 episodes of the series will be screened. The evening will be hosted by series star Caroline Rhea, and will feature live stage appearances by other series regulars Olivia Newton-John, Beth Grant, Bonnie Bedilia, and Leslie Jordan. Singer Georgette Jones will pay tribute to her mother by singing Tammy Wynette classics featured in the series. Pop diva Debby Holiday will also perform an original song featured in an upcoming episode. A VIP celebrity after-party will be held immediately following the screening.

BROADWAY STAR KEN PAGE RELEASES NEW CD!

Ken Page, star of stage ("Ain't Misbehavin'", "Cats") and screen ("Dreamgirls", "Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas") releases a new live 2-CD recording "Page by Page". The CD features music from Broadway, as well as standards and popular tunes. The original title song "Page by Page" was written by Joe Patrick Ward.
